Veolia Environnement and sustainable development
With its four divisions, Veolia Environnement provides environmental services to its customers: municipalities, industrial and commercial companies, as well as individuals all over the world.
Commitment to sustainable development and the preservation of environmental values are always of primary concern in the cooperation of Veolia Environnement and its partners.
The most important principles of this are put down in the ten-point "Charter for Sustainable Development” document.
It is a basic principle applying to all fields that our contractual cooperation involves respecting the local laws in force, and determines each party’s responsibilities.
In case of those facilities that are fully managed by Veolia Environnement, it is Veolia’s responsibility to respect all regulations and standards in force.
In case of projects, where responsibility is divided between the customer and Veolia in general, Veolia is responsible for checking compliance with regulations and standards, and make proposals for any development.
The activities of the VE group are special in the sense that the technical solutions applied are aimed at rationalizing environmental impacts in each case.
Veolia’s team of experts ensures the appropriate use of expertise and experience and help adapting them to local circumstances. Veolia Environnement strives to contribute to the protection of the environment in cooperation with its partners in every instance of business. |
